John's retirement

Shelley and John rented a beach house, lets face it, it was a castle on the beach. It allowed two huge families to live as one.
We have always been proud of our family and the closeness we have knit so tightly. John's family has taken that to a whole new level.
Juan and Carm are at the helm. They will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this year. If you saw them together they are the picture of love. No doubt about it. They have produced four amazing kids who have produced thirteen kids of their own. Only two of the grandchildren were missing this week.
I had the absolute privilege to bond with these guys. The love, the outburst of song and dance was awesome. It was so interesting to see that each individual family had slightly different approaches to how their children were raised but the foundation, the base, was Juan and Carmen and their extreme devotion to all of their people.
I was so lucky to become one of them. These people are real, they are enveloping. We laughed, we cried, we danced and we sang. We sang Oh Canada and Star Spangled Banner. The youngest was 2 and the oldest was 85. It didn't matter, we loved.

John, thank you for being our family hero and best wishes on future endeavors. Most of all thank you for giving us the opportunity to share your family.

Thank you to my housemates, Carm, Juan, John, Shelley, Lisette, Nicole, Jake, Wes, Cuqui, Rich, Mackinzie, Haley, Nick, Jorge, Rosie, Johnny, Miranda, Manny, Mike, Caroline, Skylie, Caden, Lela, Tevi, Elvira, Cindy, Kyle, Valerie and Matthew xoxoxoxox
